Obituary of Blanche Ora LaForest
Blanche O (Sherwood) LaForest – 95, devoted wife, mother, grandmother/Nana passed away peacefully on Monday May 31, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Albert ‘Al’ LaForest. She was born in Chester, MA on August 17, 1925 to Charles and Ora (Leasot) Sherwood.
They started their family in Chester before moving and raising their 4 children on Greenwater Pond in Becket. In her spare time she was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake for her family. She will especially be remembered for her spaghetti sauce, peanut butter squares and lemon squares. If she wasn’t baking she could be found in her flower gardens or sitting at her kitchen table watching her hummingbirds or playing rummy with her family. Last but not least she was a devoted Red Sox fan and she could be found watching them anytime they played. Before starting their family she could be found working at A & L Market in Chester, MA.
She is survived by her 3 sons: Joseph & Deborah of ME; Gerald of ME; Edward & Laurie of MA; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a sister; Beatrice of FL.
Blanche was predeceased by and is now reunited with her husband, Albert LaForest and their only daughter Carol Daigle; her sister Doris, her brothers Edward & Donald and a grandson Jesse.
Per her request there will be no funeral services.
