Obituary of George Albert Monteith
Brooklin--George Albert Monteith, 67, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2020, surrounded by family. George was born in Caribou to Lynwood and Arlene Monteith on January 17, 1953.
After high school in Caribou, he lived a life of adventure moving to Florida, Fishers Isle and Alaska. George married his lovely bride Brenda Johnson on June 24, 1977, where they built their home in Brooklin. George found his true passion building boats at Duffy & Duffy and Atlantic Boat. George’s hobbies included traveling and being creative using multiple mediums. If you were ever on High Street during his retired years, you were sure to see George driving down the road on his tractor Bessy, named by his grandchildren. He did a service to his community by keeping that road clean.
George is survived by wife Brenda; daughter Lisa B and husband Jeff; daughter and grandchildren Erica, Sam, Carson, Raegan; siblings and in-laws Blanche, Gloria and Victor, Sylvia and Bob, Florence, Michelle, Pam and Mark, Pattie and George, Derek and Sherry; numerous nieces and nephews.
George has always had a love of flowers and nature. For those who wish to honor his memory, please plant flowers or a tree.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future time. Condolences may be shared with the family at cremationbasics.com
